FORM I-9 2022: ICE Announces New Extension Date and Requirements

Recorded Session
90 Minutes

Form I-9 is only two pages, yet it came with 15 pages of instructions and a manual of more than 70 pages. This 90-minute Form I-9 webinar reviews the redesign DHS proposed to make the form less cumbersome.

The proposals included combining Sections 1 and 2 on one page, moving Section 3 into a separate Reverification and Rehire Supplement, linking the List of Acceptable Documents to the List C documents on the USCIS website, cutting the instructions to seven pages and removing PDF enhancements so the form works on any device.

The session also explains the DHS flexibility that let eligible employers inspect Section 2 documents remotely during COVID-19, the written policy it required, and the duty to physically inspect documents later.

WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND?

Preparing, correcting and auditing I-9s remains a headache for employers, and mistakes lead to fines and penalties. This training highlights the errors employers make most often so you can reduce them.

It also explains the conditions attached to the remote inspection option and why it caused confusion. It suits employers and business owners in every industry, company leaders, compliance professionals, office managers, HR professionals, managers and supervisors.
